While the 851 reaps success both on and off the track, Ducati is also dedicated to another type of motorcycle that is particularly popular with Ducatisti around the world: the 900 Superlight, which represents a limited edition of the 900 SS.

With its single-seat configuration, the 900 Superlight is another example of how Ducati is able to be ahead of its time in the field of research and development, especially in the area of weight reduction. Building motorcycles as light as possible has always been a priority: lightness, in fact, ensures better handling and greater performance, as well as guaranteeing safety and fun riding.

When the 900 Superlight first appeared on the market in 1992, it featured numerous components developed to reduce the overall weight of the motorcycle.

The quest for lightness, which 30 years later would return with the 1199 Superleggera, is achieved through a selection of the best materials: the carbon fiber fenders, the fiberglass single-seat tail, the rod rear brake reaction rod in carbon fiber and the decomposable rims in aluminum and magnesium. Details that at the time are used on competition models.
